Buns of steel

When Shelagh purchased a "Fitbit" in April 2015 she could barely walk. Now she hoofs around like a pro and I follow along. We love walking through neighbourhoods and looking at the houses we can't afford. Along the way we also pick up on certain design ideas like ornate doors or broken tile design in the style of Antoni Gaudí.

Craftsmanship

There is a beautiful whimsy here in styles and design, not only in real estate but also in clothing and pottery etc. Colour is abundant and wild, and it really works here... It's actually expected, by me at least. Mexico is a colourful, spontaneous and loud place of free spirited people, who will celebrate everything from the heart. Even the food is packed with colour and I love that because I eat with my eyes first. Mexican food, like Mediterranean food is bursting with colour and flavour.

Way down there is downtown
A wonderful doorbell
A taste of Barcelona
Old, made new again

As we walked and climbed the neighbourhood pictured in the map we took the photos you are seeing in this post. The big round marker top left in the map is where we live. Everything from there is either uphill or downhill. We walked pretty much every street in that screen shot. It took about 90 minutes of active time and earned Shelagh about 7600 steps of her daily 10000 steps.

A wee bit of M.C.Escher
Wanna condo?

All this walking and climbing, combined with a diet that is low in carbohydrates and high in legumes, fruit and lean proteins has resulted in a lot of weight loss and buns of steel. Needless to say, we both look incredibly sexy now! ;-)

Enjoy the pictures...
